CNY cards (aka Ang Pow's cover)

Yeah.. we're still celebrating CNY..

These are made last week for my in laws ... but found no time to post it..  ^_^

CNY cards which were Ang Pow's cover as well

We kept lots of Ang Pow packets .. which i always recycle for cardmaking.

Here're used from recycle items and our paper flowers die cuts.

They're quick & easy projects. The best part is they're handmade which make even more meaningful.

Bunny Card

Hi there ..

Here's some sharing .. bunny cards that i made recently for this upcoming Chinese New Year.
As this year is Rabbit Year, i decided to have 'Bunny' as the main focus..

Use the pop up technique to make the 'bunny' even stand out.

Add the sentiment from red packets (great to recycle.. ^_^)

CNY cards (aka Ang Pow's cover )

We're still celebrating Chinese New Year...

There is tradition where we give red packet (Ang Pow) to people for their blessing and good luck.

The Red Packet, 红包 (Hong bao, ang pow) is a rectangle envelope used for holding money as gifts during auspicious occasions. Red packets are usually red with auspicious characters, designs or symbols although gold colored red packets are also popular. Some red packets are in different shades of red and even pink.

In this occasion, i'd made 2 Ang Pow's cover with CNY greeting as well..for my -in laws,,,

Above two are the CNY greetings or the cover..and below two are the red packets (Ang Pow)..

Chinese New Year card

I'm so excited about making Chinese New Year card this time... My mom in law requests 2 cards for her friends...

Normally, i like to use cute design for my cards..but i don't think it suits for this theme..as it's for my mom in law..

Here is my card...

I fold the cardstock into 3 section.. i used Wild Flowers stamp by Basic Grey only at the right side of the card using VersaMark for the background. For the left side, i add orange card stripe and add mini flower stamp using chalk inks by VersaMagic's Pixie Dust. Then add acrylic gems at the centre of stamped flower. For the centre image, actually I cut from red packet (ang pow).. most of the designs are great..

I used decoupage for the chinese words at the centre..

The back of the card is like this...

A bit simple.. i only stamp the chinese word stamp, using the VersaMark.

I even made matching envelope... but it's a bit blur on the photo..hehe..

hope my mom in law will like it....
